MOSTLY JAZZ FUNK & SOUL FESTIVAL 2014: FULL LINE UP ANNOUNCED

The Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul Festival will be returning to the beautiful setting of Moseley Park, Birmingham, on 11th– 13thJuly 2013 for another unique weekend of Jazz, Funk & Soul music.

In 2013, the sun-soaked event was bought to a climatic close by the legendaryChic feat. Nile Rodgers, who had just released the track of the summer [Get Lucky] with Daft Punk. Also performing across that weekend were the likes of Bonobo, Soul II Soul, Candi Staton and Craig Charles to name a few so its no surprise that tickets for the Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul festival 2014 are flying out!

This year the Friday night will be headlined by the eclectic New York trio; Fun Lovin’ Criminals. They will be joined by Syrian artist Omar Souleyman, The Dutch producer trio Kraak & Smaak, The Souljazz Orchestra, Sons of Kemet, Free School, Peaky Blinders, Albare Plays Gibson Guitars & Radio Riddler.

The Saturday night, which has been curated by Craig Charles, will be headlined by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Civil Rights Icon and Stax Legend; Mavis Staples. She will be joined by BBC Radio 6 summer hit makers Ibibio Sound Machine, Cody ChestnuTT, King Khan & The Shrines, Myron & E, Lack of Afro, Hannah Williams and The Tastemakers, The Impellers, Alexia Coley and, of course, Craig Charles himself.

The final night of the festival will see Earth Wind & Fire Experience feat. Al Mckay bringing the festival to a rapturous close with hits ‘Boogie Wonderland’, ‘Let’s Groove’, & ‘September’. They will be joined by Jazz legend Courtney Pine, Ginger Baker (of Cream) Jazz Confusion which also includes James Brown’s Saxophonist Pee Wee Ellis, Heliocentrics, London Afrobeat Collective, Young Pilgrims, TROPE, Sara Colman's Brazilian Project, REED Bass, Ben Markland Trio & Jazzlines Ensemble.

Once the festival comes to a close in the park on Friday (11thJuly) and Saturday (12thJuly) there will be two official After Parties taking place at the Hare & Hounds in Kings Heath, exclusively available to Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul Festival ticket holders.

The Friday night After Party will be headlined by Kraak & Smaak (DJ SET) who will be joined by our favourite local DJs Jukes of Hazard & Deano Ferrino.

The Saturday night After Party will be headlined byCraig Charles, who will be appearing alongtwo more of our localfavourites,Sam Redmore andBilly Chill Fingers.
