Gearing up for its sixth year in Moseley Park, the Moseley Folk Festival is set to bring an eclectic mix of traditional, contemporary and experimental folk and acoustic music back to Birmingham this summer. A chilled out, family-friendly affair, folk lovers can relax in the beautiful setting of the 11 acre park and lounge lake side – you’ll definitely want to pack a deck chair and a picnic basket for this one.
This year’s headliners include OBE and Ivor Novello winner Richard Thompson, The Waterboys and up-and-coming folk act, lau. At the time of writing, the rest of the line-up has yet to be announced, but once again the festival has promised to venture out beyond the boundaries of the park and into Moseley Village’s best pubs where you can enjoy intimate sessions, dancing and an array of talent. There are no camping facilities, but as Moseley is only around 10 minutes from Birmingham city centre, there are plenty of hotels to choose from.
