Primarily for fans of maths-rock, noise-rock, post-rock, alt-rock and cinematic-rock; ArcTanGent not only ensures that the music sub-genre dictionary is going to need a reprint, but also provides an intimate 5000 person festival for those who like things a little left-field of the norm. If Bob Rock, Rocky Balboa, Rocket Raccoon and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson ever form a band, this is likely where they’d make their debut appearance.
Named after an album by heavy weirdness pioneers Earthtone9 (aka ET9), ATG offers three nights camping with 70 bands spread over four stages and a silent disco that runs from 11pm until 3am. Many of the bands come from the roster of fast growing indie label Sargent House. Outfits for the weekend will probably include spectacles, calculators and philosophy books as accessories, along with more than a few Bazinga t-shirts. A sight which is as amusing as it is terrifying when you witness the math-mosh pit. Enter if you dare.
