Christmas Volunteering in Zambia

Change your Christmas this winter from the dreaded chill to a pleasant warmth while you give an inspiring Christmas gift to disadvantaged children in Zambia.  Volunteers that are sick of the Christmas shopping rush and the dull weather can escape for two to four weeks and instead enjoy the heat of Zambia while working in holiday clubs and local communities around Livingstone.

Holiday clubs are used to help students catch up on work they missed during term time and give the children a safe environment to spend their summer holidays.  Volunteers can teach lessons as well as engage students in recreational activities and games.  In the afternoon, the placement involves helping local communities develop, with volunteers aiding families in setting up farming programmes, reading clubs and art clubs.

The Christmas volunteer program runs for a minimum of two weeks, with costs starting at £712 with the organisation African Impact.  The cost covers all training, fees, transfers to and from the airport and also provides accommodation and three meals a day from Monday to Friday.
