16 – 17 August

Hylands Park, Chelmsford/ Weston Park, South Staffordshire

Tickets: Weekend (inc. camping) £189

In 1996, Pulp’s front man Jarvis Cocker announced he had the notion to play two outdoor venues in two days. We’re not sure if he was being serious or not, but his suggestion was eagerly jumped upon and the incredibly unique festival that is V was born. The dual festival routinely fills out Hylands Park and Weston Park, where headliners perform in one park before swapping over – such a simple concept we’re surprised Cocker didn’t think of it sooner.

V has a thing about delivering top talent, and 2014 looks to be no different. Headlining this year are Justin Timberlake and The Killers, who will be joined by Ed Sheeran, Lilly Allen, Paolo Nutini and Example. The Kaiser Chiefs will no doubt cause a riot, whilst Elbow, Manic Street Preachers, Chase & Status and, somewhat randomly, The M People, will prove V’s dedication to providing entertainment across a broad spectrum of music.

If (and that’s a big if) you ever tire of the music, simply visit the Glee Club comedy tent or relax in one of the many bars located around the site. V Fest’s excellent facilities separate it from your average festival, making the camping aspect much more appealing. It has free drinking water in the campsites and the arena, designated zones for making a fire and, perhaps most importantly of all, luxury (dubbed ‘V Style’) camping. V Festival needs no further promotion, so what are you waiting for? Pick a park and party.
