Strawberry Fields Festival

Bombay Bicycle Club (DJ Set) – Mark Knight – Frankie & The Heartstrings

7 – 9 August - Cattows Farm, Heather, Leicestershire - Weekend Tickets £59.50

Strawberry Fields is one of a growing number of independent festivals appearing on the UK summertime event calendar.  Now entering its sixth year, Strawberry Fields offers great value for money with a modest billing of drum & bass, urban beats and a dash of indie thrown into the mix too.

Apart from the music, Strawberry Fields Festival hosts a vintage clothes fair (Strawberry Glam), has a fun fair, on site hair and make-up artists, a theatre production company, live art demonstrations from some of the UKs best graffiti artists, rest and relaxation in the Healing Zone, a chance to get intimate at the Poetry Brothel, a Festaxi service, and festival glamping.

Having failed in our quest to find actual strawberries at last year’s event we can neither confirm nor deny whether this healthy little treat has a role to play at the festival.  But one thing we do know for sure, we thoroughly hope it takes note from the classic Beatles song on the Sgt Peppers album and delivers the annual event Strawberry Fields, forever.

Rewind North

OMD – The Human League – The Boomtown Rats

7 – 9 August - Capesthorne Hall, Cheshire - Tickets: £57.50

The 80s are coming back to Capesthorne Hall once again for Rewind North and 2015 will prove that it is a generation still full of energy and sass.  This year will see a local influence courtesy of Wirral born and bred synth-pop band Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) headlining on the main stage.  The acclaimed band had success with Organisation, Architecture and Morality and Dazzle Ships, all of which they will perform with renewed glory in a set to prove that the 80s is very much still alive.  Sheffield based Human League is also making an appearance, showing crowds exactly how wild a festival up north can be.

Rewind North this year will prove that 80’s pop is still king, with an eclectic mix from Kim Wilde, who burst onto the pop scene in the 1981 with her debut single Kids in America.  Bob Geldof’s distinct style of punk will also be in abundance as he leads The Boomtown Rats.
