Global Gathering, the brainchild of Godskitchen; the international superclub brand, had deep lying roots in the nightclub scene before venturing into the world of festivals for the first time in 2001.
The organiser’s humble – and cost effective – pure DJ/dance music mandate was replaced by high profile live acts from 2005 onwards with the festival becoming the one of the two main heavyweights in the UK dance festival scene alongside Creamfields. Despite taking place a month apart, both festivals split opinion with party-goers who can only stretch to buying tickets for one or the other. Here, we give you the low-down on the 2014 instalment of Global Gathering.
Chase & Status – The Prodigy
25-26 July
Longmarston Airfield, Stratford upon Avon, Warwickshire
Weekend tickets start from £110
Since 2001 music-lovers have been treated to the annual dance music festival, Global Gathering. The UK festival, which takes residence at the Long Marston Airfield near Stratford-Upon-Avon during the last weekend of July, has routinely mesmerised audiences with some of the hottest electronic music artists from around the globe. The 2014 line-up, featuring Chase & Status, The Prodigy, David Guetta and Alesso, promises to be one of the biggest UK festivals of the year and a must for any dance fanatic. As the 50,000 people who ventured to Warwickshire last year to see the likes of Plan B, Rudimental, Rita Ora, Wiley, Example and Katy B will vouch, the appeal and demand for the 14th UK Global Gathering will be as high as ever. The festival is the world’s first truly global event brand and is now breaking boundaries around the world to bring the best dance music and production to over a million electronic music fans worldwide.
